Saint John, N.B. Mr. Joseph Henry McGrath, husband of Edith M. McGrath, of Water Street, Miramichi, passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Wednesday, January 14, 2015, at the age of 84.

Born in Chatham, on January 13, 1931, he was the son of the late Joseph and Viola (Powers) McGrath. He was a retired employee of Wm J. Kerr Construction Ltd. and attended St. Michaels Basilica, Miramichi.

He is survived by his wife, the former Edith M. Murdoch; daughters, Susan Ryan (John), of Miramichi; one son, George McGrath (Jo-Ann), of Hinton, AB; three sisters, Ann Goguen (Roger), of Miramichi, Shirley Myers (Dave), of Edmonton, AB and Margaret Ferguson (Bob), of Moncton; seven brothers, Brian (Pearl), Lloyd (Joan), Keith, Blair (Karen), Wayne, Marven (Clorese), Wallace; six grandchildren, Joey, Dillon, Sharon, Jennifer, Robert, Adam; two great grandchildren, Jackson and Meghan. He was predeceased by one son, Michael McGrath; one sister, Helen Connors; one brother, Allan McGrath

Visitation will be at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., on Sunday, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm 2015, from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held from St. Michaels Basilica, on Monday, January 19, 2015, at 11 am, conducted by Father John Fraser. Interment will be St. Michaels Cemetery, later in the spring.

Please note, vigil prayers will be held at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon at 1:50 pm.
