DOUCET, June Norma – 75, The Meadows Home for Special Care, Yarmouth, formerly of Wedgeport, Yarmouth Co., passed away suddenly on Saturday, February 14, 2015 in The Meadows. Born June 1, 1939 in Blackville, New Brunswick, she was a daughter of the late Gaspar and Alice Chavarie.
She worked as a restaurant manager in New Brunswick for a time, after which she moved to Nova Scotia and returned to school and became an LPN. She then worked with the VON for a number of years. She enjoyed bowling and playing computer games. She is survived by her husband, Wallace “Wally” J. Doucet, as well as by her daughters, Lisa (Mike) Sellers, Lawrencetown; Angie Hare, Miramichi, NB; Vicky (Frankie) Power, Montague, PEI; Valerie (Derrick) Underhill, Miramichi, NB, as well as by a step-daughter, Tammy (Doug) Bedford, Oakhaven, NB. Also surviving are her loving grandchildren, Devin, Kayla, Ashley, Brittany and Shelby; a great grandson, Bryson, as well as a sister, Bonnie, Ontario. Aside from her parents, she was predeceased by several brothers and sisters. In accordance with June’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation by request. The funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, February 19 from Saint Michael’s Catholic Church, Wedgeport, Father Albeni d’Entremont officiating. Interment will take place at a later date in the parish cemetery. It has been requested that there be family flowers only.
