The death of Mary “Edna” Haining widow of Fred Haining of Miramichi, NB, occurred at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on Friday, February 27, 2015 at the age of 83. Born in Miscouche, PE, Edna was the daughter of the late Anthony and Eliza (Gallant) Gaudet.
Edna was a homemaker, she enjoyed her weekly card games for over 40 years. Edna was a retired waitress from the former French Fort Cove Restaurant and Newcastle Central Snack Bar. She was a past member of the Newcastle Bowling League and Campers Association.

Edna is survived by one daughter: Patsy Doucette (Denis) of Moncton, NB; five sons: Bill (Sandy), Brent, Bruce (Tracy) all of Miramichi, NB, Brian (Peggy) of Miscouche, PE , Barry of Edmonton, AB; five sisters: Rose Atcheson (Gary) of Nova Scotia, Delima Vatamaniuck, Loretta Gaudet, Edie MacDonald (Wayne) , Linda Sterling (Ken) all of Miscouche, PE; four brothers: Clarence, Joseph, Martin, Clifford all of Miscouche, PE; eight grandchildren: Adam Bowie, Cheryl Thomas, Richard and Tracy Doucette, Nakita, Kyle, Fred and Cooper Haining; four great grandchildren: Claire & Austin Doucette, Remi Bourque and Brady Bowie; brother-in-law: Jim Wyatt of Truro, NS and several nieces and nephews.

Edna is predeceased by one daughter: Judy Bowie; one son: Bobby; three sisters: Nel Fitzpatrick, Ida Croken and Loraine Wyatt; one brother: Leo and one sister-in-law: Audrey Gaudet.

Visitation will be held Bell’s Funeral Home on Monday from 2-4 PM & 7-9 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 @ 10 AM with Father Tom Fowler officiating.

Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Cemetery later in the spring. In Edna’s memory a donation may be made to the Miramichi Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit or the Cancer Society.
