The death of Mrs. Doreen Laura (Adams) Allison wife of the late Harold Allison of Miramichi, NB and formerly of Whitney, NB, occurred on Sunday, March 1, 2015 at the Miramichi Regional Hospital at the age of 88. Born in Campbellton, NB, she was the daughter of the late Talmadge and Laura (Winton) Adams. Doreen was a retired school teacher working most of her career at MVHS but also teaching at NSER. Doreen was a past member of St. Philip’s United Church, Whitney and a member of St. James and St. John United Church, she was also a member of both UCW’s, member of the Whitney Willing Workers, Retired Teacher’s Association and past member of the Miramichi Auxiliary at the Miramichi Regional Hospital.

Doreen is survived by: one daughter: Donna Mather of Miramichi, NB; one son: William “Bill” Allison (Susan) of Saint John, NB; six grandchildren: Vonda Hare (Ernest), James Mather (Linda), Jeffrey Mather (Krista), Craig Allison (Jessica), Stephen Allison (Cindy) and Bruce Allison (Michelle); 12 great grandchildren: Kailey, Emily, Scott, Justin, Kyle, Cole, Kaylyn, Robert, Noah, Liliana, Kayla and Alysha.

Besides her parents and husband, Doreen is predeceased by: son in law: Ian Mather; three sisters: Irene, Isabel & Grace and four brothers: Gordon, Chalmers, James and Elton.

The family will receive visitors at Bell’s Funeral Home on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. The Funeral Service will be held from St. James and St. John United Church, Newcastle on Friday, March 6, 2015 at 1 PM with Rev. John Fraser officiating. Burial will take place in the St. Philip’s United Church Cemetery, Whitney, later in the spring.

In Doreen’s memory, donations may be made to the CNIB or to a memorial of one’s choice.
