The death of Mary “Helene” (Burns) McIntyre widow of Thomas McIntyre of Miramichi, NB occurred at her residence on Sunday, July 5, 2015 a t the age of 87. Born in Sillikers, NB, Helene was the daughter of the later Walter and Catherine (Hyland) Burns. Helene went to Taunton, MA for 60 years where she finish her education, began her career as an office manager for Crown Tanks Company and raised her family. In 2003 Helene, returned to her beloved Miramichi where she enjoyed reading, knitting and genealogy or anything pertaining to her Irish roots.Helene is survived by one daughter: Kathleen Harrison of North Providence, Rhode Island; one son: John of San Francisco, CA; two sisters: Monica Hovey of Miramichi, NB and Anna Curtis of Moncton, NB; two brothers: Leo (Susan) of Fredericton, NB and Donnie (Joan) of Sillikers, NB; two grandchildren: Shannon and Patrick Boule; two sisters-in-law: Shirley Burns and Rose Marie Burns both of Miramichi, NB and several nieces and nephews.Helene is predeceased by one sister: Mabel Dodds; two brothers: Lawrence and Bill and one son-in-law: Chuck Harrison.Visitation will be held at Meadows Funeral Home, Sunny Corner and Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Thomas the Apostle Roman Catholic Church with Father Dan Melanson officiating at a date and time to be announced.Burial will follow in St. Thomas Roman Catholic Cemetery.In Helene’s memory a donation may be made to St. Thomas the Apostle Roam Catholic Church Memorial Fund.Funeral arrangements are under the care of Meadow’s Funeral Home, 150 Northwest Road, Sunny Corner, NB: Telephone 622-3600
