Miramichi – Hiram Sterling “Hum” Cameron, husband of Frances (Smith) Cameron, of Ironman Road, Miramichi and formerly of Miramichi Bay, passed away peacefully at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on Tuesday, August 18, 2015, at the age of 88 years.
Born in Black River Bridge, on October 28, 1926, he was the only child of the late Sterling and Belle (MacDairmid) Cameron. After thirty-six years of service at Dept. of National Defense (CFB Chatham), Hiram and Frances retired to Miramichi Bay from their home in Loggieville, where they enjoyed life along the Bay.
He will be sadly missed by his wife of 60 years, the former Frances Smith; daughter Heather Cormier (Yvon), of Moncton; three sons, Brad (Carolyn), of Fredericton, Blake, of Miramichi and Glen (Joeylnn), of Miramichi; four grandchildren, Sarah, Bailey, Drew, Cassidy.
Visiting will be at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., on Thursday evening, from 7-9 pm. Funeral service will be from St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church, Bay du Vin, on Friday, August 21, 2015, at 2 pm. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
