Dr Ronald J Knowles passed away peacefully and comfortably at the Miramichi Hospital Friday evening after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. An accomplished radiologist, he organised the diagnostic imaging (x Ray) department at the Miramichi regional hospital; as well as head up x-ray at the former Hotel Dieu and former Miramichi Hospitals, along with Napanee Ontario and serving as a medical officer in the RCAF and later Canadian armed forces. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth, son Jim, daughter Donna, and brother Ken. Dr Ronald Knowles is resting at Maher’s Funeral Home on Friday August 28, 2015 from 12:30pm until 2pm. Funeral service will be held at Maher’s Funeral Home Chapel on Friday August 28, 2015 at 2pm. As an expression of sympathy a donation to the Miramichi Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated.
