Mr. Douglas George Murray, husband of Florence (Thompson) Murray, passed away at Miramichi Regional Hospital on Friday September 4, 2015 at the age of 74.Born in Chipman, NB, he was the son of the late Harold and Dora (Knox) Murray. He was a retired Principal of Harkins Elementary. He was a member of the Miramichi Golf Club, a Advisor of 1st Newcastle Ventures for over 20 years, a mentor for Community youth Duke of Edinburgh award program, also a past member of the Miramichi Curling Club.Besides his wife Florence, he is survived by two sons, Shaun (Kimberly) of Markham, ON and Scott (Jennifer) of Milton ON, one brother Dawson Murray of Perth Andover, one sister in law Joanne Murray of Kindersley Saskatchewan, one grandchild Zachary and nieces and nephews.At the Request of Doug there will be no visitation, a private family Funeral will be held at Davidson’s Funeral home Chapel on Thursday, September 10 at 2pm with burial to follow in the Miramichi Cemetery.Arrangements are in the care of Davidson’s Funeral Home, 622-7464 and online at www.davidsonsfh.com, your family-owned, family-operated funeral home.
