It is with great sadness that the English family announces the death of their mother, Kathleen, who passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones, at her residence on September 23, 2015, a month shy of her 102 birthday.
Kathleen was born on October 25, 1913 in Douglasfield, the daughter of Timothy and Hannah (Esson) McDonnell. She graduated from St. Mary’s Academy in 1931 and from Normal School, Fredericton, in 1932. For several years she taught in Barnaby River and Semiwagon Ridge. She also did supply teaching in later years. Kathleen was an active member of her community. For over 60 years she was a member of the St. Patrick’s Church CWL and at one time served as President. Kathleen was also a member of the Friendly Neighbors Senior Citizens. She LOVED to play cards, bridge and auction being her favorites. Kathleen enjoyed visits from her many friends and looked forward to family get-togethers, always ensuring that everyone had “plenty” to eat.
