Betty Hubbard1931-2015Betty (Sutherland) Hubbard, wife of the late Kenneth Hubbard, of Sunny Corner, passed away on Wednesday at her residence, September 30th, 2015 at the age of 84. Born in Red Bank, NB, she was the daughter of the late Millar and Mary (Young) Sutherland. Betty was a homemaker, a census taker for Statistics Canada and worked at Sutherland’s Family Store for many years. Betty was a member of the Islandview Senior Citizen’s Group and belonged to the U.C.W. Betty is survived by one daughter: Pam Hubbard of Hamilton, ON; three sons: Ross (Lonelle) Hubbard of Cassilis, NB, Wayne (Trish) Hubbard of Calgary, AB and Lloyd Hubbard, of Témiscaming, QC; brothers: Paul (Helen) Sutherland of Exmoor, NB and Miller “Buddy” Sutherland of Newcastle, NB; four grandchildren: Greg (Shelly) Hubbard, Wendy (Steven) Nash, Barby (John) Hawkes and Lindy (Brad) Silliker; two great-grandchildren Abigail Nash and William Silliker; two nephews: Roger & Calvin Sutherland; two nieces: Tammy Travis and Judy Richard. Besides her husband Kenneth, Betty is predeceased by one brother: Jackie Sutherland and one nephew: Johnny.Visitation will be held at Meadows Funeral Home, Sunny Corner on Saturday, October 3rd from 2-6 P.M. The funeral service will be held from Meadows Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, October 4th, 2015 at 2 P.M with Pastor Raymond Pitcher officiating. Burial will take place at the Boom Road Presbyterian Cemetery.As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, in Betty’s memory, donations may be made to a memorial of one’s choice. Please note: members of the Island View Senior Citizen’s Group are asked to meet at Meadows Funeral Home on Sunday at 1:30 P.M to form an honour guard.
