The death of Edward “Ned” Dennis McLean husband of Marie (Allain) McLean of Miramichi, NB, occurred at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on Sunday, November 15, 2015 at the age of 89. Born in Bridgetown, NB, Ned was the son of the late Dennis and Margaret (Estey) McLean. Ned was a World War II Veteran serving as a private with the North Shore Regiment, member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. # 10, Newcastle, honorary past member of the Miramichi Cruisers. Ned was also an avid card player and he was a strong fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Blue Jays.Is will be forever missed by his beloved wife Marie and his three daughters: Pauline Newman (Garfield), Dianne O’Shea (Mark), Margaret Arsenault (Danny); three sons: Barry (Stacey), Dennis (Vicky) and Patrick all of Miramichi, NB; nineteen grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Ned is predeceased by four sisters: Edith Hare, Agnes Walsh, Inez McKay and Bonnie McAllister; two brothers: Hershel and Barry.Visitation will be held at Bell’s Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church on Thursday, November 19, 2015 at 11 AM with Father Paul LeBlanc officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Cemetery.In Ned’s memory a donation may be made to Palliative Care Unit of the Miramichi Regional Hospital or St. Mary’s Restoration Fund.
