Miramichi –   Neva Jean Isabelle Levere, of Princess St., Miramichi, passed away at her residence on Monday evening, September 21, 2015, at the age of 85. Born in Hardwicke, N.B., on December 13, 1929, she was the daughter of the late James and Aileen (MacLeod) Gregan.  She was a homemaker; a long serving receptionist and secretary with Dr. C.A. Hayward; a member of St. Andrews United Church, Miramichi. She is survived by one son, Douglas Leverre (Sivonan), of Whitby, Ont.; one step daughter, Angela Button (Tracy), of Southhampton, Ont.; one step son, James Flieger (Laurelle), of Scaraborough, Ont; nine grandchildren; eight great grandchildren.  She was predeceased by her first husband, Odey H. Levere; her second husband, L. Maxwell Flieger; one daughter, Marilyn Perkins; one son, Bruce Levere; one sister, Emma Belton; one brother, Ian Gregan. By request there will be no visitation at the funeral home.  The public are invited to attend a memorial service to be held from Adams Funeral Home Chapel, on Tuesday, September 29, 2015, at 2 pm, conducted by Rev. Charlene Maguire MacKnight.  Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Miramichi. Gregory Francis SwainGregory Francis Swain, Miramichi, passed away peacefully on September 22th, 2015 at the age of 82. He was born in Saint John, NB, May 2, 1933. He was the son of the late William Thomas & Jennie Swain (Cook)He will be missed and forever loved by his wife Lorraine (Henry) who he was married to for 58 years. He is survived by his children Joan, Theresa (Robert), Greg (Judi), Gary (Cathy) and Jennifer (Greg). His grandchildren Terri-Lynn, Laura, Jenna, Nathen, Meghan, Keenan, Matilda and Jack will miss their Grampy. He was also blessed with great grandchildren Cash, Kingston, Walker and Flynn. He is survived by his brother Jerry and his sisters Betty (Bob) and Patsy (Malcolm).He was predeceased by his infant daughter Suzanna, his brothers William (Dot), Johnny (Carol), Donald (Zita) and Vera Swain, wife of Jerry.He served with the Royal Canadian Forces as an electrician for 24 years with postings in France, Germany, Ottawa and finally Chatham. He subsequently worked as a civilian with the Military as well as with Repap where he “officially” retired from. Greg loved the bagpipes and we will honor that at his funeral. He was always visiting and playing cards with his friend Bob at Mount St Joseph. He was a faithful parishioner at St. Michaels as well as a lector and volunteer for church events. As a past member of the Knights of Columbus he was a Grand Knight for the Father Bernard M. Broderick Council 1219. He served as a Board Member for a non-profit housing organization and loved delivering meals-on-wheels. He was forever a Toronto Maple Leaf fan and loved to curl. He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He played a fatherly role to Barbara, a young Belgium woman, who entered our lives as an exchange student on the Miramichi. She was always in his heart after her departure to her homeland.Special thanks to the staff at 2West at Miramichi Regional Hospital, Extra-Mural, and especially Daryl and Debbie for their compassion and care at home. Greg, aka “Greggie”, “Dad” and “Grampy” will always be in our hearts. It is with great sadness that the English family announces the death of their mother, Kathleen, who passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones, at her residence on September 23, 2015, a month shy of her 102 birthday.Kathleen was born on October 25, 1913 in Douglasfield, the daughter of Timothy and Hannah (Esson) McDonnell. She graduated from St. Mary’s Academy in 1931 and from Normal School, Fredericton, in 1932. For several years she taught in Barnaby River and Semiwagon Ridge. She also did supply teaching in later years. Kathleen was an active member of her community. For over 60 years she was a member of the St. Patrick’s Church CWL and at one time served as President. Kathleen was also a member of the Friendly Neighbors Senior Citizens. She LOVED to play cards, bridge and auction being her favorites. Kathleen enjoyed visits from her many friends and looked forward to family get-togethers, always ensuring that everyone had “plenty” to eat.Kathleen was pre-deceased by her husband, Adrian English, her parents, her brothers Edmund, Timothy, and John. She is survived by her sister Carmel Foley, three sons, David (Maureen) English of Miramichi, Paul (Jackie) of Bedford, NS, Ken (Patsy) English of Miramichi, three daughters Maureen McGean (Basil), Rose English, both of Miramichi, and Lori English of Halifax, Twelve grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Ronald Charles Underhill- 67 husband of June (MacIsaac) Underhill. Born in Newcastle, NB, Ron was the son of the late Gerald and Marion (Doiron) Underhill.Besides his wife June, he is survived by his son Jason (Cora) of Quispamsis, NB and his daughter Jocelyn (Reece) Martin of Riverview, NB, one sister Nancy(Art) Roy of Hampton, NB and one brother Paul (Tanya) Underhill of Miramichi. Ron was a very proud and loving Grampy to Jacob and Charley Underhill and Jack and Rylee Martin. He is also survived by his wife’s siblings Helena, Theresa, Maureen, Betty, Sandra, Corrine, Jack, Steven, Gary, Allan and Bobby.Ronald was a great man who made many smile. He retired from the Irving refinery in 1994. He continued to work as a local courier in the greater Moncton area. In his spare time, he loved dabbling in the stock market, playing on the computer, playing board games with his family and attending many of his kids and grandkids sporting events. His passions besides his family, were walking along beaches, and making great bonfires. He loved the outdoors and never turned down a bike ride or a light jog.Visitation will be held at Bell’s Funeral Home on Friday from 2-4 PM & 7-9 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 3, 2015 @ 1 PM with Father Tom Fowler officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Cemetery. Betty Hubbard1931-2015Betty (Sutherland) Hubbard, wife of the late Kenneth Hubbard, of Sunny Corner, passed away on Wednesday at her residence, September 30th, 2015 at the age of 84. Born in Red Bank, NB, she was the daughter of the late Millar and Mary (Young) Sutherland. Betty was a homemaker, a census taker for Statistics Canada and worked at Sutherland’s Family Store for many years. Betty was a member of the Islandview Senior Citizen’s Group and belonged to the U.C.W. Bertha Arsenault, of Rogersville, passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2015, at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, at the age of 88.Born in Rogersville, she was the daughter of the late Alexandre and Mary Jane (Richard) Martin. She was a member of St Francois-de-Sales Roman Catholic Church.She will be sadly missed by her five daughters Sylvia (Ronald Maillet) of Montreal,QB, Francine Morais of Elliot Lake, ON, Irene Doucette of Gray Road, Alice (Alphonse Doucette) of Rogersville, and Rachael (Alphonse Doucette) of Collette; four sons Alfred (Alphanse) of Rogersville, Paul (Marie) of Rexton, Vincent (Monique) of Rogersville, and Yvon (Bella) of Saint John; one brother Eddy Martin (Emma) of Rogersville; 16 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her son Fernand, two sisters Anita and Ida, and four brothers Damien, Alfred, Alsime, and Leo.The family will receive relatives and friends from St Francois-de-Sales Roman Catholic Church, Rogersville, on Thursday, October 8, 2015, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. John George Daley, husband of Angela Foran, of Miramichi, passed away on Tuesday, October 6th, 2015 at the age of 68. Born in Newcastle, NB, he was the son of the late Patrick and Elizabeth (Walsh) Daley. John was a retired UPM employee as well as the owner of Jack’s Bar. Besides his wife, Angela, John is survived by three daughters: Christine (Bobby) Daley of Derby Junction, NB, Christianne (Steve) Hathaway of Boston, MA and Drew Daley of Miramichi, NB; two sisters: Vicky Daley of Ontario and Jean (Paul) Doyle of Miramichi, N.B.; two brothers: David (Mary) Daley of Miramichi, NB and Richard (Marion) Daley of Kentville, NS; eight grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Lena, age 87, of Evergreen Country Home in LeRoy and formerly of Miramichi, NB, passed away at the Humboldt District Hospital on Friday, October 9th, 2015. She is survived by her siblings, David (Cheryl), Alice (Norm) Demish and Irene (Bill) Paskaruk; as well as in-laws, Mavis Regenwetter, Paul Loroff, and Ed Rudiger; two aunts, Gladys Hilderman and Agnes Cowan; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents, Henry and Lydia; brother, John; sisters, Louise Loroff, Rosella (Bob) Brown, and Shirley Rudiger; and foster brother, Bryan Evans. Lena was stationed across Canada serving with the Royal Canadian Air Force and 10 years in Germany. She retired as a Civil Servant after an extensive career. The Vigil for Lena was held on Tuesday, October 13th and the Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Wednesday, October 14th. Both services were held at St. Augustine Roman Catholic Church in Humboldt. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Evergreen Country Home, c/o Town of LeRoy, LeRoy, SK S0K 2P0. Louisa (Collins) McKay of Creaghan Street, Miramichi NB, formerly of Millerton passed away Thursday October 8, 2015 at Miramichi Regional Hospital, at the age of 97. Born in England, she was the daughter of the late John James and Elizabeth (Naseby) Collins. She was a homemaker and a member of the Anglican Church. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. After service in the Auxiliary Territorial Service of the British Army she came to Canada in 1945 as a war bride.She will be missed her four sons and one daughter; David (Christine) McKay of South Esk, Bob (Margaret) McKay of Miramichi, Terry (Debbie) McKay of Miramichi, Linda (Luke) Gillard of Toronto and Ken McKay of Miramichi, ten grandchildren, two step grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, five step great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren. Besides her parents she was predeceased by three brothers, James, Ernest and William and five sisters Lucy, Kate, Annie, Lydia and Bella.At the request of the family there will be no visitation. The Funeral Service will be held Wednesday October 14, at 1 p.m. at Davidson’s Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Michael O’Hara officiating.
